Metadata: 1980 Underwater Conservation Society (UCS) and Nature Conservancy Council (NCC) Scilly Isles and South Cornwall Sublittoral survey
Abstract:
Survey conducted by the Underwater Conservation Society with assistance from the Nature Conservancy Council (NCC). The survey took place during July 1980 and involved numerous dives throughout the Scilly Isles and South Cornwall. Sites were described and the presence/absence of species recorded. The survey aimed to describe the range of sublittoral habitats and species present at the islands.
Data holder:
Natural England
Use constraints:
Natural England and DASSH terms and conditions apply.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 365 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 1980 Underwater Conservation Society (UCS) and Nature Conservancy Council (NCC) Scilly Isles and South Cornwall Sublittoral survey |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 154dbfb4798386a2abb4cd1d7a6c6763 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | NATENG000010 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | dataset |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 1980-07-04 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 1980-07-18 |
| Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | inapplicable |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |
| Abstract | The abstract provides a clear and brief statement of the content of the resource. |
| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Two separate dives took place around the Scilly Isles and S. Cornwall between 4th July and 18th July 1980. At each dive site presence/absence information was recorded for a pre-defined list of species. In addition site descriptions, including diagrammatic, were made. Results were interpreted to include the distribution and habitat preferences of each individual species recorded as well as general population and community information. |
| Additional information | This describes relevant references to the data e.g. reports, articles, websites plus other useful information not captured elsewhere. | Dipper, F. (1981) Sublittoral Survey of the Scilly Isles and S. Cornwall. Ecology, Marine 36 (15) |
