Metadata: Across Wales Lagoon Monitoring - Neyland Wier (Westfield Pill) Pool 2012
Abstract:
This dataset is a collation of data from subtidal benthic soft sediment sampling carried out within Neyland Wier lagoon, which is a feature of the Pembrokeshire Marine Special Area of Conservation (SAC). The purpose of this data capture was to aid in the monitoring and condition assessment of this Annex I feature.

| Abstract | The abstract provides a clear and brief statement of the content of the resource. |
| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Data captured: Abundance of benthic invertebrates (per 0.0044m2 core) and granulometry. Supporting determinants are: National Grid References recorded using hand held GPS and salinity and temperature which are continuously recorded using a data logger. All samples are collected using a corer (0.0044m2). Benthic invertebrate samples are sieved over a 0.5mm mesh. At 3 stations 5 replicate infaunal grab samples are taken as well as 3 granulometry samples from each station. Although official time series monitoring of the site started in 2012, the site was visited and some data collected on 08 Dec 2010 and 01 Apr 2011. Benthic invertebrate samples are processed by laboratories that are members of the National Marine Biological Analytical Quality Control (NMBAQC) scheme and random samples from each survey are also selected for audit by Unicomarine |
| Additional information | This describes relevant references to the data e.g. reports, articles, websites plus other useful information not captured elsewhere. | For further details of analyses see: Analysis of macrofaunal and sediment samples.
