Metadata: 2023 NRW Cardigan Bay SAC Sabellaria Reef Monitoring
Abstract:
In Cardigan Bay SAC the relevant Annex I intertidal habitat features are Reefs. Specific areas of interest include areas of Sabellaria reef. Monitoring sites were established at Aberaeron and Cei Bach in 2007 and the fauna and flora have been re-surveyed on an annual basis. This file contains the reduced survey data collected in 2023.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 7887 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2023 NRW Cardigan Bay SAC Sabellaria Reef Monitoring |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | 2023 NRW Cardigan Bay SAC Sabellaria Reef Monitoring (9506fdbc-31dd-4812-82c8-e87bfe65c251) |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | NRW_DS161549 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | 4f4c4942-4343-5764-6473-313631353439 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | dataset |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2023-07-05 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2023-07-05 |

| Abstract | The abstract provides a clear and brief statement of the content of the resource. | In Cardigan Bay SAC the relevant Annex I intertidal habitat features are Reefs. | Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Methodology: Two sites (Aberaeron and Cei Bach), a series of stations at each site, 15 randomly placed 0.25m2 quadrats at each station (5 full survey (all species), 10 surveyed for Sabellaria cover). In-situ recording of all visible species. Percentage cover of selected species. Presence of other species. Purpose: Long-term monitoring to maintain a baseline of data that can be used for regular assessment of condition of the SAC, to study any changes over time, and to understand the scale of natural temporal fluctuations in those communities and species. This data is closely allied to NRWDS115072 - Intertidal Monitoring of Sabellaria Reef in Cardigan Bay Special Area of Conservation (SAC) 2008, which is part of NRWDS109834 - Across Wales Intertidal Monitoring Survey. A copy of the open data is archived at DASSH (Unique DASSH identifier: DASSHDT00000798). |
