Abstract:
This dataset comprises of results from an aerial survey of common scoters, Melanitta nigra, (seabirds) in Carmarthen Bay, Cardigan Bay and Liverpool Bay. The data was collected to provide information for Special Protection Areas (SPA) designations and monitoring. Common Scoter feed on bivalves and other invertebrates such as polychaetes and amphipods which are found in abundance in the shallow waters (less than 10 m) in Carmarthen Bay.
