Metadata: Survey Results from Jerico Next Questionnaire on Marine Monitoring for Environmental Pressures and Impacts Undertaken in 2016
Abstract:
This data comprises results from two questionnaires created for task 1.1 in the JERICO-NEXT project. The questionnaires were developed to obtain views on environmental threats and adequacy of monitoring programmes to address these threats. The first part was focussed on the participants, with the aim of obtaining the views of all participants on the environmental threats in European waters and the adequacy of current monitoring programmes. The second part was focussed on building a meta-database of monitoring programmes, with the aim of obtaining a summary of what was measured and where. In addition, a spreadsheet was provided, to obtain georeferenced information on monitoring stations.

The request to complete the questionnaires was circulated to all partners in JERICO-NEXT in June 2016 and subsequently forwarded to wider contact networks. All respondents were asked to complete and submit the questionnaires online by 15 September 2016. Due to delays in the completion and submission of the online questionnaires, the deadline was extended three times. The request was also publicised via the JERICO-NEXT website, twitter, EuroGOOS and OSPAR. The questionnaire was closed to new responses on 30 November 2016. Once the questionnaires were closed, responses were downloaded from Google Forms and stored in an MS Access database. Identifying information was removed from the responses to anonymize the data. |
