Metadata: 2022 The Marine Biological Association (MBA) Mount Batten Bioblitz
Abstract:
The Batten Bay mini-BioBlitz 2022 is organised by the Marine Biological Association as part of the Darwin Tree of Life Project. The survey area includes a range of habitats including the coastal heath, woods, meadows, estuary and extensive rocky shore. Please note that there are iNaturalist and iRecord records that haven't been included in this dataset to avoid duplication at the NBN atlas level.
Data holder:
Data Archive for Seabed Species and Habitats (DASSH)

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 11208 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2022 The Marine Biological Association (MBA) Mount Batten Bioblitz |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | 2022 The Marine Biological Association Mount Batten Bioblitz Records |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 0429aa45165de9553ad9e7ef465f2b4f |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | DASSHDT00000491 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | dataset |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2022-06-16 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2022-06-17 |
| Spatial resolution unit | This describes the unit of spatial resolution which for distance must be metres. | urn:ogc:def:uom:EPSG::9001 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Data collected by beach survey, daytime/twilight coastal walks, casual observations, pick methods, plankton netting, and moth trap set up and recorded manually during the Mount Batten Bioblitz run by the Marine Biological Association as part of the Darwin Tree of Life Project. Where possible records were verified by experts. Physical record sheets were transcribed to a digital format and quality assured by DASSH. This data has been reviewed against the DASSH Quality Assessment Criteria (http://doi.org/10.17031/64ccec5c7ba72) and been categorised as medium quality. If any sensitive species or biotope records are present within this dataset, they will have been removed. If you wish to request access to sensitive species records, please contact the metadata contact. The UK Sensitive Species list has been agreed by UK statutory bodies and relevant experts. It can be viewed here https://docs.nbnatlas.org/sensitive-species-list/. Please note sensitive species lists can vary across the UK. |
