Abstract:
East Anglia Three (EA3) is the second East Anglia offshore windfarm project developed by Scottish Power (SPR) as part of the East Anglia Hub which is shown in Figure 1. EA3 is located 71km east of Great Yarmouth and covers an area of approximately 305km. It has capacity to generate 1.2GW from the 95 planned turbines installed onto monopile foundations and a single offshore converter station (OFCS) installed onto a jacket foundation. Construction of EA3 is currently ongoing however the mobility of the seabed on site limits the validity of pre-construction survey data, with the latest datasets are due to expire in mid-2025. Scottish Power have awarded GEOxyz a contract to renew the geophysical surveys over wind turbine (WTG) foundations (FOU) and inter-array (IAC) locations where construction has yet to commence. A total of 95 WTGs are scheduled for installation during this phase of construction and it is anticipated that up to 22 WTG FOUs may have been started prior to commencement of the geophysical acquisition and therefore not require survey. The OFCS location does not form part of this survey scope. Figure 2 provides the general layout of EA3 including planned for spare foundation locations which do not form part of the scope of work (SoW). WTGs are separated approximately 1.1km apart in a north-south direction, and 2 to 2.8km in a west-east direction, with the separation increasing gradually from north to south. It is understood that the purpose of the work is to acquire multibeam echosounder (MBES), backscatter and sidescan sonar (SSS) data around the planned turbine foundation and MBES and backscatter only either side of the planned inter-array locations where construction has not yet commenced. A 170m radius around each WTG location identified by Scottish Power must be surveyed with both MBES and SSS. A corridor 10m either side (20m wide total) of each IAC location identified by Scottish Power must also be surveyed with MBES only.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 11265 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2025, EA3, OWF, BKS |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 138b3aff-c317-46e1-91fc-8f0806805a89 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | 2025, EA3, OWF, BKS |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | dataset |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2025-07-02 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2025-08-10 |
| Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | inapplicable |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | unknown |
