Metadata: 2023 N-SEA, Vattenfall, Norfolk Boreas, Vanguard, Geophysical survey of 8 extension blocks on the ECR
Abstract:
N-Sea Geophysical survey of 8 extension blocks on the Export Cable Route in the offshore Norfolk Boreas and Vangard Areas of the Export Cable Route containing Preliminary data MBES, MAG, SBP and EVT data Operational reports for the vessels used. The aim is to Supplement existing survey data from various sources to provide a broad understanding of the geophysical conditions within the survey areas Obtain accurate bathymetry, locate all obstructions and identify other seabed factors which may affect the installation of the wind turbines, offshore substation, subsea cables and any other associated equipment. Carry out a geophysical survey within the survey area to define the shallow sub-seabed geology across the cable route corridor for macro-routing purposes. Vessels used GeoFocus and GeoRanger

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Survey Data collected using 2 vessels The Geo Focus is a DP1 Class I hybrid survey vessel managed by Geo Plus. N-Sea has the vessel on a long-term charter and upgraded the available sensors to the latest standards. MultiBeam Echo Sounder, Side scan sonar, Magnetometer, sub bottom profiler. The Geo Ranger 41 m long DP Class I hybrid survey and ROV support vessel with vessel-mounted USBL and MBES, as well as other geophysical survey, sediment sampling and seabed imagery equipment depending on project requirements Once all equipment had been installed and interfaced a series of verifications and calibrations took take place while the vessel remains alongside. Nsea issued operation and result reports for Vattenfall in December 2023 . |
