Metadata: 1995 Ambios Environmental Ltd, Lyme Bay Dorset, ROV video survey
Abstract:
All these records relate to "Munro (1995) Lyme Bay Environmental Study ROV Video Survey (Appendix 2 Volume 3)" A copy of the report is held at Dorset Environmental Records Centre. This report forms part of the 'Lyme Bay Environmental Study' series. This volume reports on the ROV video survey, and augments the results of a dive survey undertaken closer inshore (Volume 3). Twenty nine stations were sampled using an ROV, of these 13 were situated in the vicinity of the proposed primary and secondary drill sites, and the remaining 16 at various locations in the eastern part of the bay. The video record obtained was analysed using MNCR methodology to assess the conservation importance of communities. However, the biotope codes are not recorded in the report. The report also highlights that within the richest, most complex areas, much of the biota could not be adequately identified from the video images. Consequently, the species lists produced for these stations do not constitute true reflections of actual diversity. Station 13 was not surveyed due to inability to anchor. N.B. Although Lat Long (OSGB) has been selected as the 'Coordinate system', the report does not state the datum used to take the Lat/Longs recorded and in this version of Marine Recorder there isn't the option of selecting Lat Long (unknown)
