Metadata: 2010 Development Restricted Areas and Enforcement Authorities around Shetland
Abstract:
Jurisidctional boundaries of harbours and small ports, policy restrictions to industry expansion, and privately owned marinas were mapped by the Scottish Sustainable Marine Environment Initiative (SSMEI) Shetland pilot. Shetland Islands Council (Ports and Harbours Operations) provided information on small ports and harbours. Policy restrictions on the expansion of the aquaculture industry in certain areas were found in the Council's Interim Policy for Marine Aquaculture (2007). Tait and Peterson (solicitors) provided information on the jusrisdictional area of Broonies Taing (a pier owned by a Trust).
