Metadata: 2021 Oyster Ark Survey of Native Oysters on Mull and Skye
Abstract:
The Oyster Ark Project (Nature Restoration fund project RES921142) was developed to attempt to fill in some of the gaps and to add to our knowledge of the extant populations of native oysters around Scotland. The project was carried out by volunteers from Seasearch and by a team from Heriot-Watt University and was funded by the Biodiversity Challenge Fund. The project aimed to seek out remnant wild Scottish native oyster (Ostrea edulis) habitats, assess their population sizes, disease status, presence of Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS). Surveys were carried out on foot in intertidal areas, or using snorkellers and divers for subtidal areas. Abundance counts of areas were established by surveyors.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 11380 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2021 Oyster Ark Survey of Native Oysters on Mull and Skye |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 5be13b67-111b-4443-bb99-b2e6eb216103 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | 4ba8fccc-9805-41dd-9ffc-6f9292a89712 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | dataset |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2021-10-30 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2021-11-17 |
| Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | inapplicable |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

| Dataset constraints | ||
| 20.1 Limitations on Public Access - Access constraints | This states `otherRestrictions` from ISO vocabulary RestrictionCode and is an INSPIRE/GEMINI requirement. | otherRestrictions |
| 20.2 Limitations on Public Access - Other constraints | Species in survey is O. edulis. Article 13(1)(h) Public access to spatial data sets and services would adversely affect the protection of the environment to which such information relates, such as the location of rare species. | |
| 21.1 Conditions for Access and Use - Use constraints | This states `otherRestrictions` from ISO vocabulary RestrictionCode and is an INSPIRE/GEMINI requirement. | otherRestrictions |
| 21.2 Conditions for Access and Use - Other constraints | This states any constraints on use of the data. Multiple conditions can be recorded for different parts of the data resource. If no conditions apply, then `No condtions apply` is recorded. This uses free text. | Survey concerns restricted species (O. edulis) so use only permitted under licence. |
