Metadata: FishDAC - SIAMISS - 2024 Northern Shelf Anglerfish Survey (North Sea & West of Scotland) - Charter 2
Abstract:
This metadata record describes the Marine Directorate's charter 0224H using the fishing vessel Audacious to conduct part of the Scottish Irish Anglerfish and Megrim Industry Science Survey (SIAMISS) conducted in 2024 in the waters of the West of Scotland and the North Sea. This trawl survey followed a set of protocols drawn up by an industry science survey-planning group made up of Marine Scotland scientists and fishing representatives. These protocols share much in common with the sampling regimes described in Marine Scotland standing instructions for demersal trawl surveys.

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | All target fish were quantified, with catch rate, length-frequency, distribution, sex and age composition data for anglerfish and cod, were collected throughout the survey. Biological data were collected on all target skates and rays captured, biological data were collected on a subset of megrim and four-spot megrim. Additional biological data was collected for selected species. Equipment used: BT195 Anglerfish bottom trawl with 400mm Rockhopper ground gear and tickler chain. |
