Metadata: 2016, Deep BV, West of Duddon Sands, Post-construction Bathymetric Survey (Survey 1 Consent)
Abstract:
Deep BV has been contracted by Dong Energy Ltd. to conduct several bathymetrical surveys at the West of Duddon Sands Windfarm (WDS01) in the East Irish Sea, United Kingdom. The surveys were performed as one combined survey operation, during autumn 2016 and can be divided in two parts: Survey 1 – This consent survey covered a selection of 6 wind turbine generators (WTGs), 17km of array cables between the WTGs, the WDS01 substation, as well as the entire route of export cable north and the export cable south. The objective of the survey was to accurately measure the current state of the offshore installations, to identify areas with seabed change and scour development around structures and to identify potential cable exposures and/or free-spans of cables. Survey 2 – The Crossing and Proximity Agreement (CPA) survey. This survey covered two cable crossing agreements (A10 & A11) and the proximity agreements (A12). This series covers Survey 1 (Consent survey) only. The primary objectives of the autumn 2016 post-construction survey to be undertaken within the scope of this specification include as a minimum (as defined by Dong): ? Accurately map the seabed in the defined survey areas; ? Identify areas with seabed change and scour development around structures, down to 10 cm changes, compared to previous surveys; ? Document all observed cable crossings and rock dumps in the survey areas. Show examples from "typical areas", representing the majority of the site/cable routes; ? Identify potential cable exposures/free-spans of cables and describe changes (and potential exposures/free-spans) in detail; ? Document accuracy of measurements; ? Create a 3D model of exposed/free-spanning cables from MBES data; ? Align all data processing, interpretation and reporting with respect to the technical specifications in Dong Appendix 7 (WDS01 - 2016 - Post-construction Survey - Appendix 7 - Technical Requirements).

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | During the survey operations, continuous QC has taken place. This included monitoring status and quality indicators of the multibeam system. Automated alerts were used when a status or quality indicator of one of the sensors was out of the specified range. Continuously the surveyor was monitoring the data coverage, the 95% confidence level and monitoring overlapping data between adjacent survey lines during survey operations. |
