Metadata: 2016, Spectrum Geosurvey, Westermost Rough, Consent Survey Q2 2016
Abstract:
Spectrum Geosurvey Limited was contracted to perform multibeam bathymetry surveys of selected assets on the Westermost Rough Offshore Wind Farm (WMR01). The purpose of the survey programme was to provide bathymetric data meeting the requirements of the wind farm’s FEPA licence agreement. The survey scope consisted of surveys around six turbine foundations and along the sixteen array cable routes bounding the south, west and north sides of the main site. Multibeam bathymetry was acquired on board the Foryd Bay between 6th April and 12th April 2016.

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | The survey scope consisted of surveys around six turbine foundations and along the sixteen array cable routes bounding the south, west and north sides of the main site.A final multibeam bathymetry dataset was produced using the following workflow: ? Import the strips of multibeam data into a new PDS2000 processing project. ? Apply the correct sound velocity profile to each strip of data. ? Perform the tidal reduction from ETRS89 ellipsoid heights to LAT using the DONG provided VORF ETRF-LAT geoid model. ? Confirm positioning quality, based on GPS mode and altitude standard deviation. ? Check data visually for horizontal and vertical positioning quality, ensuring there is good correlation between features on overlapping lines of data. ? Clean the remaining data for water column noise and depth spikes. Data must be cleaned manually (i.e. visually) as any automatic filtering/smoothing is likely to remove features of interest. ? Export data to a gridded format, with data points binned at 0.5 metre intervals and generate final deliverables. Final bathymetric deliverables from this process (provided on a separate data disk) include: ? Average bathymetric depths (VORF LAT) gridded at 0.5 metre resolution ? Average bathymetric depths (VORF LAT) gridded at 1.0 metre resolution ? Average bathymetric difference (2016 vs 2015) gridded at 0.5m resolution ? Average bathymetric difference (2016 vs 2013) gridded at 0.5m resolution ? Bathymetric point clouds (VORF LAT) in XYZ format ? Bathymetric contours at 1 metre intervals in DXF and ESRI Shapefile Format ? Vessel trackplot in ESRI Shapefile format ? SVP Data |
