Metadata: 2006, Wessex Archaeology, Lynn and Inner Dowsing, Archaeological Protocol
Abstract:
Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by Centrica Renewable Energy Limited to prepare an archaeological protocol for the construction, use and de-commissioning phases of the Lynn and Inner Dowsing offshore wind farms. The study established Archaeological Exclusion Zones, created structured finds reporting workflows, and emphasized legal compliance with the Merchant Shipping Act (1995). Key conclusions highlight the necessity of ongoing archaeological involvement, rigorous reporting, staff training, and consultation with relevant authorities to protect marine and terrestrial heritage. Recommendations include appointment of archaeological contacts, strict adherence to defined protocols, comprehensive documentation, and continued collaboration with heritage bodies to ensure the preservation and evaluation of significant findings throughout all project phases.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 28009 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2006, Wessex Archaeology, Lynn and Inner Dowsing, Archaeological Protocol |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Archaeological Protocol |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 170d2539-a464-4268-997e-f3f540aef8d0 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-1084 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2006-08-01 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2006-08-30 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |
