Metadata: 2017, EGS, Lincs Offshore Wind Farm, Post Construction Geophysical Survey
Abstract:
EGS (International) Ltd was contracted by Centrica Renewable Energy Limited (CREL) to carry out a geophysical survey of the Lincs OWF, located offshore of Skegness on the east coast of England. The main objective of the survey was to fulfil the Lincs Operations and Maintenance requirements. 24h survey operations were undertaken by the EGS Pioneer using multibeam echosounder (MBES) and side scan sonar (SSS) equipment. The vessel was mobilised in Lowestoft on 23rd June 2017, with survey operations commencing the following day (24th June). Survey operations were completed by 30th June, with the EGS Pioneer subsequently transiting back to Lowestoft and completing demobilisation the following day (1st July). High resolution multibeam and side scan sonar was acquired with 100% bathymetric and side scan coverage was achieved around all 75 turbines and the 4 substation legs. Detailed horizontal and vertical measurements were taken at these locations and were compared to measurements made in previous post-construction surveys in order to identify any trends.
