Metadata: 2012, NRP, Costa Head, Marine Wildlife Survey
Abstract:
The marine wildlife survey programme is being undertaken by Natural Research (Projects) Ltd and is designed to provide baseline characterisation data on seabirds, marine mammals and basking sharks occurring in the development search area and a surrounding buffer. This information will help inform the assessment of potential ecological impacts caused by the development on these taxonomic groups (i.e., EIA and HRA) that will be presented in the Environmental Statement for the project and inform any operational monitoring requirements. Survey work commenced in late March 2012 and this interim report covers survey work up to August 2012. This report covers the results of the visual boat-based surveys undertaken at approximately monthly intervals. Passive Acoustic Monitoring surveys (PAMS) undertaken at the same time is the subject of a separate report (Wittich and Gordon 2012) which accompanies this report.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 4405 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2012, NRP, Costa Head, Marine Wildlife Survey |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 1bdd066c559646a7b4840825b6c69546 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | A2455-CHWFL |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2026-04-17 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2026-04-17 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | The survey design and survey methods was the subject of a standalone report (NRP 2012) issued to SNH and MS for comment. Feedback on the methodology was received on 30th July 2012 and was discussed at the post scoping review meeting on 5th September 2012. |
