Metadata: 2012, Pelagica Environmental Consultancy Ltd, Zone 9 Celtic Array, Offshore Habitats Regulations Assessment Screening Assessment
Abstract:
The Offshore Habitats Regulations Assessment- HRA - Screening Report is an iterative document and is based on the information and assessments available at the time. It is intended that the Offshore Habitats Regulations Assessment -HRA- Screening Report can be updated following further anlaysis which may indicate a likely significant effect or determine no likely significant effects on features from the Rhiannon Wind Farm. Further analysis will be undertaken in support of the Environmental Impact Assessment and the outputs will be considered to determine if the Offshore Habitats Regulations Assessment -HRA- Screening Report needs to be refined. The scope of the screening assessment is based on the advice received during consultation on the Offshore Scoping Report. All coastal Special Protection Areas and Ramsar sites and all coastal and offshore Special Areas of Conservation with interest features that could be affected by the proposed Rhiannon Wind Farm development were included in the screening assessment. The geographical extent of the screening assessment extends from the Rum SPA to the north to Skokholm and Skomer SPA, 216km to the south. It also considers sites in Ireland, Lough Neag and Loch Begg, 149km to the west. Corresponding Centrica Document No: SE-D-EV-133-0117-000000-001 Available Datasets : 1. ArcGIS files (mxd, . shapefiles), 2. Drawings (pdf, jpeg,), 3. Reports (.doc, .xls, .txt, csv),

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | The screening assessment was undertaken for impacts both alone and in combination. all coastal SPAs and Ramsar sites and all coastal and offshore SACs with interest features that could be affected by the proposed Rhiannon Wind Farm development were included in the screening assessment. In total 36 SPAs and 19 SACs were considered. Of the 36 SPAs originally included within the HRA screening assessment, 16 were considered to have the potential of likely significant effects on eight qualifying species of seabird. Of the 19 SACs originally included within the HRA screening assessment, four were considered to have the potential of likely significant effects on five habitat types and three species The geographical extent of the screening assessment extends from the Rum SPA to the north to Skokholm and Skomer SPA, 216km to the south. It also considered sites in Ireland, Lough Neag and Loch Begg, 149km to the west The scope of the screening assessment was determined by the requirements of the Directives for assessments to include all qualifying species or habitats for which the site has been designated to be assessed. The assessment did not selectively consider individual components or qualifying species (EC 2010). Consequently, if a site was identified as being at potential risk of a significant effect, all qualifying species of that site were required under the Directives to be assessed and not just those considered likely to be potentially affected. |
