Metadata: 2013, Fugro EMU, Dudgeon, Seabed and Sub-Seabed Mapping Survey
Abstract:
The work includes a seabed and a sub-seabed survey of the construction area and the export cable corridor, contracted to Fugro EMU and surveyed May to October 2013. The main aims with the survey were to: - Map and quantify the possibility for unexploded ordnance (UXO) within the turbine construction area and the export cable corridor - Acquire and interpret high quality seabed and sub-seabed data for project planning/execution, including shallow geology, local topography, seabed sediment distribution, seabed features, seabed obstructions, wrecks and archaeological sites, possible occurrence of Sabellaria Spinolusa, evaluation of possible mobile sediments, etc - Improve the geological/geotechnical understanding of the shallow stratigraphy and soil properties in the turbine site and export corridor for planning/execution of turbine foundation installation and cable routing, installation and protection.

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | The survey was planned and carried out in conformance with Fugro EMU Limited’s quality management system, which complies with the requirement of BS EN ISO 9001:2008. More detailed descriptions of specific survey techniques and procedures are contained within Fugro EMU Limited Method Statements (a component part of the Company’s QA Manual - details of which can be inspected at the Fugro EMU Limited offices on request). For planning and operation purposes a QA pack was incorporated into the front of every log book detailing administrative duties that needed to be fulfilled and a detailed description of the survey setup including a list of the main survey parameters. The log book was filled in by hand and formed a detailed record of all activities and events that occurred on-board. Digital online logs were updated for every line surveyed. These included date, time, line name, instrument setup parameters and highlighted any events or data quality issues. The performance of the survey instrumentation was constantly monitored by the online surveyor and online geophysicist. Any data quality issues were immediately highlighted and logged in the online logs. Upon review, remedial action could be performed and a decision made as to whether any reruns were required. Data storage, control and archiving of the data were undertaken in compliance with Fugro EMU Limited’s Data Management Policy. Depths are relativeto LAT (Lowest astronomical tide). Data quality complies to Statoil ASA's quality requirements for bathymetric data. |
