Metadata: 2016, OpenHydro and SSE, Brims Tidal Array, Environmental Statement
Abstract:
Brims Tidal Array Limited (BTAL) is proposing to develop a tidal array, known as the Brims Tidal Array Project (the Project), of up to 200 megawatts (MW) of generating capacity within the Pentland Firth. The key driver for the Project is the development of renewable sources of energy, which is critical for combatting global climate change, and which contributes to improved energy sustainability and security of supply in Scotland. This document is the Environmental Statement (ES) for the Project and focuses on the offshore aspects of the Project.
Data holder:
Crown Estate Scotland

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 39064 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2016, OpenHydro and SSE, Brims Tidal Array, Environmental Statement |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Environmental Statement |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 3a2a68f5-6471-4b8a-8cb3-6cf77ff89bde |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | CES-51 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2016-05-01 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2016-05-01 |
| Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | 1 |
| Spatial resolution unit | This describes the unit of spatial resolution which for distance must be metres. | urn:ogc:def:uom:EPSG::9001 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | All device types will be seabed-mounted and will have minimum clearance from the uppermost point to sea surface at lowest astronomical tide (LAT) of 30m. Turbines will have a minimum clearance from the bottom of the rotor to the seabed of 4m. All turbines have a design life of between 20 and 25 years. Table 1 describes the turbine specifications relevant to the Project. |
