Metadata: 2021, Ecospan Environmental, Looe Harbour, Metocean Buoy
Abstract:
A single Teledyne RDI Workhorse Waves Array ADCP was deployed for >30 days measuring current speed, current direction and water level allowing for a calibrated and validated coastal model of Looe Bay to be developed. This will increase the confidence in simulated sediment transport and water quality when assessing the impact of the proposed Looe Flood Alleviation Scheme. These data were collected from a Seabed Survey License. A Seabed Survey Licence enables applicants to undertake a range of small scale, temporary activities offshore, which physically interact with the seabed. As they are smaller individual surveys, not all of the deliverables comply with the MEDIN Guidelines required for other data on the Marine Data Exchange. If you have any queries regarding the contents of this series, please do get in touch with us at mde@thecrownestate.co.uk.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 19085 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2021, Ecospan Environmental, Looe Harbour, Metocean Buoy |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Metocean Buoy |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 3b412265-d063-41a6-ba10-80631ec92de2 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-3920 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2021-09-19 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2021-10-19 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Turbidity A DKK-TOA-WQC-24 multi parameter meter, to measure turbidity, was deployed at the same location as the ADCP from the 20th of September 2021 to the 20th of October 2021. The first reading was recorded at 10:20 am BST and readings were recorded at 20-minute intervals up to and including 8:00 am BST on the 20th October. This gave a total of 2154 turbidity readings. ADCP measurements A Teledyne RDI Workhorse Waves Array ADCP was deployed in Looe Bay on the 20th of September 2021 at the location : Latitude 50.351055°, Longitude -4.447610° (WGS84) in a charted depth of approximately 1.5 m below Chart Datum (Fig. 2.). The first reading was recorded at 10:15 am BST and readings were recorded at 15-minute intervals up to and including 8:00 am BST on the 20th of October 2021. This gave a total of 2872 depth readings and 2872 profiles through the water column of tidal current speed and direction. |
