Metadata: 2005, Seacore, Ormonde, Geotechnical Survey
Abstract:
Seacore Limited was contracted to undertake a geotechnical investigation within the site known as the Ormonde Offshore Windfarm. Ormonde North and South Gas Fields lie approximately 10km south west Of Barrowin-Furness in the Eastern Irish Sea. The proposed development lies close to the Ormonde North Gas Field. The purpose of the geotechnical investigation was to provide data on ground conditions to assist in the design and construction of wind turbine foundations at the investigation locations. The fieldwork was performed from the Seacore jack up platform "Excalibur". The investigation comprised four boreholes located within the windfarm site. Cable percussion and rotary coring techniques were utilised to recover disturbed and undisturbed soil and rock samples. The fieldwork was conducted during the period 19th to 27th May 2005
