Metadata: 2008, HR Wallingford, Ormonde, Metocean Study
Abstract:
The report provides metocean conditions for use in design, construction and operational assessments. The variables considered are winds, waves, currents and sea levels. The findings indicated robust and site-calibrated metocean parameters suitable for engineering design and operational planning, with key recommendations to maintain ongoing calibration with new measured data, apply Defra guidelines for sea level rise, and use joint probability approaches for structural design. The TELEMAC modelling system was highlighted for its reliability in simulating hydrodynamics and environmental impacts, ultimately supporting future safety and design considerations for offshore infrastructure development, while noting some uncertainties in extreme event estimates and encouraging further validation and quality assurance.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 18563 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2008, HR Wallingford, Ormonde, Metocean Study |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Metocean Study |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 3d326a3b-410d-4f87-aed2-989cd026aa07 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-1750 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2008-04-03 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2008-07-07 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | This report has been prepared for Eclipse energy Ltd and its design consultant ODE Ltd. It sets out the predicted winds, waves, currents and water levels that will influence design. The report includes a comprehensive set of tables, figures, and appendices presenting the required data. |
| Additional information | This describes relevant references to the data e.g. reports, articles, websites plus other useful information not captured elsewhere. | Presentation type: digital representation of a primarily textual item (can contain illustrations also) Origin: HR Wallingford |
