Abstract:
The datasets within this Series were produced by Anatec Ltd using Automatic Identification System (AIS) and Radar data recorded using a survey vessel to identify vessels (not including the survey vessels) passing through the proposed Phase 1 and 10nm buffer. The data consists of textfiles and a GIS shapefile, and covers 40 days from March 2011 and June / July 2011.

Data have been cropped to a 10nm buffer around the proposed Phase 1 and the tracks of the survey vessels have been excluded. For the Highland Eagle survey the equipment used was: Radar: Furuno FAR 2835 S AIS: Furuno FA-100 UAIS Transponder And for the Eems survey: Radar: Furuno FAR 2xx7 Series and Display Unit MU-201 CR AIS: Transas M-2 In terms of guidance, the data was created using in-house methods in line with the requirements of the Maritime and Coastguard Agencyâ??s Marine Guidance Notice 371 (MGN 371). |
