Abstract:
This document is a report on the review of track plot data obtained from vessels involved in the construction of the London Array offshore wind farm Phase 1. The review of the track plot data was undertaken in order to establish the extent to which the avoidance of pre-agreed Archaeological Avoidance Blocks (AABs) over known wrecks and geophysical anomalies on the seabed had been successful during wind farm construction.

Track plots were compared against the location of each AAB within the program ArcGIS 10.1. A 0.5m positional uncertainty was attached to each track plot during this comparison. Each AAB, for which a positional conflict arose, is identified in Table 1, along with the maximum distance that each track plot entered the AAB. AAB’s where the track plot 0.5m buffer, but not the track plot itself, conflicted with the AAB boundary are also given in Table 1 below. A list of available post-construction datasets for each AAB is also stated, as well as whether any continued monitoring is required. All of the AAB’s discussed in this report are shown on Figure T_P 1. |
