Metadata: 2014, Fugro GeoConsulting, Hywind Offshore Wind Farm, Geotechnical Investigations
Abstract:
The ST14460 geotechnical soil investigations provides information for anchoring of five floating wind turbines, and on the soil conditions along the export cable route from the wind farm area to Peterhead. The offshore activities were carried out from the DP II vessel 'Toisa Voyager' between 2014-03-28 and 2014-04-03. The operations were conducted on a continual 24-hour basis. At the planned Wind Farm site a total of 15 deep push seabed CPTUs were carried out to maximum possible penetration or planned target depth. Along the preliminary cable route a total of 19 shallow seabed CPTUs and 2 additional tests (re-runs) were performed. The onshore laboratory work was contracted out to the Danish Geotechnical Institute (GEO) and the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI). Tests on soil samples included grain size, plasticity, thermal conductivity and electrical resistivity.

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | The positions and depths reported here were checked and quality controlled by the FSBV office staff onshore and supersede the values in the preliminary field report. The sampling and/or in-situ testing was carried out between 2 April 2014 and 5 April 2014. The positioning results are given in Table 1. |
