Metadata: 2011, EGS, Lincs, Collector and Array Cables
Abstract:
The Lincs OWF Project involves the development of an offshore wind farm off the coast of Skegness (Lincolnshire) by Centrica Renewable Energy. Preconstruction bathymetric and geophysical survey data was required along the LINCS array cable and collector cable routes. Survey lines were divided into 2 categories: Collector Cables, connecting circuits with the substation, and Array Cables, connecting turbines within the circuits. In total the Collector and Array Cables constitute 77 Centreline segments, as presented in Appendix E: Collector & Array Cable Layout. Multi Beam Echo Sounder (MBES), Side-Scan Sonar (SSS) and Sub-Bottom Profiler (SBP) data will be acquired to determine seabed features, morphology, bathymetric and shallow geology along the proposed cable routes.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 18809 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2011, EGS, Lincs, Collector and Array Cables |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Collector and Array Cables |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 61a448c3-5691-47f3-a77e-9b696f85425a |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-950 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2011-08-15 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2011-08-19 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | The C&C Technologies C-Nav 2050M DGPS system was used as the primary horizontal control and the Leica 1200 RTK GPS, set to log raw observations, for the vertical control throughout survey operations. The Leica raw GPS observations were then post processed using Leica Geo Office 7.01. A secondary positioning system C&C Technologies C-Nav 2000 DGPS is permanently mounted on the vessel, ensuring redundancy and a back-up system in case of differential corrections lost in the primary positioning system. Horizontal positions are presented as Eastings and Northings relative to WGS84 UTM Zone 31 North. Vertical positions are presented relative to Admiralty Chart Datum, Skegness. The offsets between the multibeam echo sounder transducers, the Motion Reference Unit, the DGPS antennas, equipment tow points and the Common Reference Point (CRP), where the EGS Pioneer datum has been established, are accurately known (± 0.001m) as a result of the dimensional survey carried out in March 2011. All offsets were input to the navigation and acquisition systems which corrects in real time for any lever arm motion and ensures that the systems meets the highest specifications in terms of precision, accuracy and reliability. |
