Metadata: 2016-2017, Institute of Estuarine and Coastal Studies, Humber Gateway, Fish and Shellfish Surveys
Abstract:
Fish and shellfish surveys were conducted by the Institute of Estuarine and Coastal Studies on behalf of E.ON Climate and Renewables in the area of the Humber Gateway Offshore Wind Farm off the Yorkshire Coast. Near shore potting and trammel surveys were undertaken as required by the Post-Construction Monitoring Plan (PCMP) and aim to gather data in order to analyse the impact of the wind farm. The surveys collected comparable data to the EIA baseline fish and shellfish monitoring survey and evaluated potential impacts of the wind farm on fish species in the vicinity of the wind farm and shellfish in the vicinity of the export cable route. Near shore potting and trammel survey reports and datasets are provided within this series.

| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2016-2017, Institute of Estuarine and Coastal Studies, Humber Gateway, Fish and Shellfish Surveys |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Fish and Shellfish Surveys |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 69fdc8de-df97-43ad-94ea-2fdb15e8c32b |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-707 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2016-04-12 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2017-04-21 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | unknown |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Nearshore trammel net surveys: methods and survey design follow those adopted for the 2007 survey at the Humber Gateway site. 5 trammel nets were deployed: 3 along the cable route and 2 either side (reference sites). Two 12 hour samples and one 24 hour sample was taken at each survey location. Trammel nets of 200m length and 3m deep were used. Shellfish potting surveys: methods and survey design follow those adopted for the 2007 survey at the Humber Gateway site. 7 potting stations were used: 4 potting stations within the turbine array and 1 across the inshore cable route, and one inshore and one offshore north of the turbine array (reference sites). 20 pots were deployed at each station. Soak time was standardised to between 24 and 48 hours. |
