Metadata: 2005, Osiris Projects, Walney Offshore Wind Farm, Export Cable Route Geophysical Survey
Abstract:
On the instructions of DONG Walney (UK) Ltd, Osiris Projects were commisioned to carry out a geophysical survey along the corridor of a proposed cable route for the Walney Offshore Wind Farm development. Data aquisition was carried out during the period 20th to the 29th of November 2005. Data acquisition for the surveys was undertaken using MV \'Barinthus\'; a purpose built 13.0m-survey vessel. The primary objective of the surveys was to map bathymetry, sub-bottom data and seabed features, including any magnetic anomalies and sonar contacts. According to the relevant British Geological Survey (B.G.S) sheet, the geology of the area comprises seabed sands, clays and glacial tills, which are underlain by the undivided rocks of Permo-Triassic age. Over much of the easterly section of the cable route corridor the seabed sediments appear to be mainly sands, gravels, cobbles and boulders of glacial origin, with a veneer of finer grained sediments in places. Further Offshore, the glacial deposits become covered by a westward thickening succession of finer gained sediments.

| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2005, Osiris Projects, Walney Offshore Wind Farm, Export Cable Route Geophysical Survey |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 6f306304429d5e539723eb25adbec2d5 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | 1207 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2005-11-20 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2005-11-29 |
| Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | inapplicable |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | unknown |
