Metadata: 2007 - 2008, Centrica, Docking Shoal, Environmental Statement
Abstract:
This project describes the Environmental Statement for Docking Shoal offshore wind farm. It aims to provide an overview of the key findings of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) undertaken by Centrica as part of the consent application. The proposed Docking Shoal offshore wind farm is 14 kilometres (9 miles) off of the coast of Wells-next-the-sea on the North Norfolk coast and approximately 19.5 kilometres (12 miles) from Skegness on the Lincolnshire coast. The Environmental Impact Assessment covers various themes that may be impacted from the construction of an offshore wind farm. These include surveys to observe Archaeology, Ornithology, Shipping and Navigation, Marine Ecology and Noise.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 19006 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2007 - 2008, Centrica, Docking Shoal, Environmental Statement |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Environmental Statement |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 7eb30d3b-1b7f-4f71-8c25-d6af0e4e1235 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-287 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2007-01-01 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2008-01-01 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | The ES for the Docking Shoal Offshore Wind Farm comprises two volumes and a Non-Technical Summary (NTS). Volume 1 (Offshore Works) (this document) covers the offshore wind turbines and foundations, interconnecting cables between wind turbines, the offshore substations and the offshore section of the cable route to Mean High Water Spring (MHWS) level. Due to the proximity of the Docking Shoal Offshore Wind Farm site to the Lincs Offshore Wind Farm site and a shared common cable corridor through the Wash, some sections of this ES bear similarity to those submitted within the Lincs ES (Centrica 2007a). Volume 2 (Onshore Works) was submitted in January 2007 (Centrica 2007b) and covers the onshore cable and substation works for Docking Shoal Offshore Wind Farm. From this point onwards, this document will be referred to as Volume 2 (Onshore works). Given that the onshore works are shared by Lincs and Race Bank Offshore Wind Farms, the onshore volume also incorporates the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for these sites. They are, however, subject to separate consent applications. Copies of the ES for onshore works are available on request. Planning permission has now been granted for the onshore works for the Docking Shoal Offshore Wind Farm under the Town and Country Planning Act. |
