Metadata: 2006, LDA Design, Lincs Offshore Wind Farm, Seascape and Visual Assessment
Abstract:
This Seascape and Visual Assessment, which forms part of the Environmental Statement, considers the impact that the proposed offshore wind farm and associated offshore infrastructure will have on the existing landscape and seascape environment, the characteristic features of each environment and on the people who view it. The purpose of the assessment is to determine the magnitude and significance of any change to the character of the landscape / seascape area, as well as the potential impact upon views, visual amenity and receptor groups within the overall Zone of Theoretical Visibility (ZTV). The assessment defines the existing seascape and visual baseline environment and assesses their quality and sensitivity to change. It describes the nature of the anticipated change upon each and assesses the magnitude and significance of the changes during the construction, operational and decommissioning stages. The assessment also identifies any integral mitigation measures to assist with reducing effects upon particularly sensitive receptor groups and seascape environments. The seascape and visual assessment technical report is accompanied by photomontages and maps showing the potential impacts on the adjacent coastline views as a result of the construction of the proposed Lincs Offshore Wind Farm.

| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2006, LDA Design, Lincs Offshore Wind Farm, Seascape and Visual Assessment |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 850215155f7659ce80051e7f4dc17c44 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | 625 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2006-10-02 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2006-10-02 |
| Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | inapplicable |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | The methodology follows relevant standards and guidance principally set out in the Maritime Ireland/Wales Interreg 1994 – 1999 Guidance ‘Guide to Best Practice in Seascape Assessment’, (GSA), published in March 2001. This sets out a clear methodology for undertaking seascape characterisation and for the subsequent evaluation of impacts. |
