Metadata: 2008-2010, SM Pelorus Surveys, Burbo Bank, Hydrographic Monitoring
Abstract:
During January 2008 Soil mechanics were commissioned by Centre for Marine and Coastal studies (CMACS) on behalf of SeaScape Energy Ltd to conduct a hydrographic monitoring programme at the recently commissioned Burbo Offshore Windfarm (OWF). As part of this contract a series of surveys have been programmed over 2008/09, including Bathymetry, Cable Burial and ADCP. The survey reports, split into five parts, are present within this series.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 19052 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2008-2010, SM Pelorus Surveys, Burbo Bank, Hydrographic Monitoring |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Hydrographic Monitoring |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 8781b9da-a2c3-4f9b-b2b0-761e69e6042b |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-197 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2008-02-15 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2010-01-09 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | A GeoAcoustics GeoSwath Plus interferometric swathe echo sounder was utilised throughout the survey. The system was operated at a frequency of 250 KHz with a two-way beam width of 0.5° azimuth and an across track resolution in the order of 1.5 cm transmitting around seven times a second. Achievable swathe width was in the order of 4 times water depth. Data were collected with 100% overlap to ensure good data coverage and quality. A GeoAcoustics 160 side scan sonar system with a 159D dual frequency tow-fish was utilised for the Cable Burial portion of the survey. |
