Metadata: 2012, Aarhus University, Ormonde, Ornithological Survey
Abstract:
In 2011 DONG Energy commissioned Department of Bioscience, Aarhus University to conduct aerial surveys of birds in a study area around the Walney Offshore Wind Farms and the Ormonde Offshore Wind Farm. The two requested surveys were performed using high resolution image survey methods. The initial schedule was to conduct surveys in December 2011 and January 2012, but due to weather constraints the conduction of the December survey was delayed until January 2012. Thus, the two surveys were performed in January 2012, one on 13th January and the second on 28th January. The high resolution image surveys were carried out from a survey altitude of 475 m.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 19059 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2012, Aarhus University, Ormonde, Ornithological Survey |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Ornithological Survey |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 892eb203-3d34-4484-8c10-1af851ea6113 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-1766 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2012-01-13 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2012-01-28 |
| Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | 520 |
| Spatial resolution unit | This describes the unit of spatial resolution which for distance must be metres. | urn:ogc:def:uom:EPSG::9001 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | The two surveys were performed using a Vexcel Ultracam XP camera. The camera delivered images with a ground resolution of 3 cm, corresponding to an image foot print of 520 by 360 meters. Both surveys were performed under good weather conditions, with low wind speeds and good visibility and the obtained image quality gave good possibility to identify birds in the images. |
