Metadata: 2009, GEMS, Dudgeon, Preliminary Geotechnical Site Investigation
Abstract:
Geotechnical Engineering and Marine Surveys Limited (GEMS) have been contracted by Dudgeon Offshore Wind Limited (COMPANY) to perform a preliminary geotechnical investigation at the proposed Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm site in the southern North Sea. The site is approximately 65km east of Skegness (East Lincolnshire) and 32km North of Cromer (North Norfolk), covering an area of approximately 35km². The investigation consisted of geotechnical borings at 4 locations. Fieldwork operations were conducted from the vessel MV Investigator which is owned by GEMS International NV and managed by Chapman International Services Ltd. The vessel is provided to GEMS under exclusive long term charter. Fieldwork operations were carried out from the 1st June to the 9th June 2009 and a Field Report has been submitted ref.GUK09034-FLD-01-02.

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | One combined sampling and PCPT borehole to 50m penetration was specified by the client to be performed at each of the four locations. This program was intended as a guide, final borehole depths were permitted to be altered in consultation with the onboard client representative as the boreholes progressed. Recovered samples were described and tested onboard and in situ test data was field processed. Soil samples were returned to the GEMS office where they were dispatched to the onshore laboratory for further testing. The onshore soils testing program was performed at Geolabs Ltd., Watford, in accordance with the client’s laboratory testing schedules. |
