Metadata: 2014, EGS, Barrow, Geophysical Survey
Abstract:
DONG Energy Power contracted EGSi to undertake a hydrographic and geophysical survey in the post-construction (operational) phase of the project to determine, changes to seabed morphology and classify targets on the seabed, including exposed cables and rock dumping areas, along the export cable route. he data acquisition took place between September-October 2014 on the research vessel, MV Xploer. To meet this objective EGS conducted a multibeam high frequency bathymetric survey combined with seabed mapping and sub-surface hazard identification using side-scan sonar (SSS).

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 19277 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2014, EGS, Barrow, Geophysical Survey |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Geophysical Survey |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 9087db42-39ee-4d86-a3cc-248ab7e8db52 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-40 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2014-09-01 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2014-10-31 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Multibeam coverage was obtained for the full length of the Barrow export cable route from the landfall to beyond the substation location at KP26.7. Two lines were run at a 25m offset from the cable and additional infill lines were run as required. This has resulted in a survey corridor of at least 65m across the entire length. At the landfall, additional lines were run at high water to achieve the required coverage and a minimum depth of 3.9m above LAT (VORF). The greatest water depth along the export cable route was 31.6m below LAT (VORF) observed within the channel at approximately KP10.9. From the landfall, seabed depth gradually increases to 26m at KP10.5 for a 500m bank that shoals to 18.0m before a deep depression of 31.6m at KP10.9. From here the seabed remains pretty consistent at 25m, with sand bank between KP12.25 and KP14, until KP14.9 where the seabed shoals quickly to 4m at the location of the cable ‘loop’. From here to the substation the seabed level gradually increases to a depth of 15m below LAT (VORF) |
