Metadata: 2014-2015, Fugro, Beatrice, UXO Survey Campaign
Abstract:
The Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Project commissioned UXO surveys of numerous locations across the offshore site in order to provide confidence that no UXO objects existed prior to undertaking a geotechnical survey campaign. The UXO surveys were undertaken in 2013, 2014 and 2015 and covered likely turbine locations and locations nearshore at the export cable landfall location. The initial surveys were geophysical and carried out by Fugro EMU (2013 and Nearshore, 2015) and Fugro Survey BV (2014). Following the completion of the geophysical surveys the data and reports were passed to 6Alpha Associates to be assessed and UXO sign-off certificates were produced. The survey deliverables included high-resolution bathymetry, sidescan and magnetometer data. The deliverables from 6Alpha include sign-off certificates for every location and GIS data showing Object Contact locations and exclusion zone buffers.

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Data collected between 15th July 2013 and 25th January 2015. Objectives were to provide geophysical and UXO information to assess the conditions for the proposed Beatrice site for geotechnical campaigns. The project commenced with the mobilisation of the M.V Fugro Pioneer on the 7 December 2014. Daily Progress Reports (DPRs) detailing all operations have been provided in Appendix A. Mobilisation continued until 14 December 2014 when the vessel transited to site. Further calibrations and mobilisation checks were completed on the site on 17 December 2014. A first Surrogate Items Test was conducted the 18 of December and the subsequent trials between 25 December and 28 December 2014 at a location within the Beatrice Offshore Windfarm site. The Surrogate Items Test Report (Appendix B) was accepted by 6 Alpha (the UXO Consultant) and BOWL and operations commenced later on that same day. Operations continued on a 24-hour operations basis until completion on 07 January 2015. Following the completion of the survey operations, demobilisation began on 07 January 2015 in Invergordon before the vessel travelled back to Den Helder |
