Metadata: 2014, PLA Hydrographic Service, Gunfleet Sands 1 and 2, Scour Rectification Bathymetric Survey
Abstract:
The Port of London Authority (PLA) Hydrographic Service was commissioned by DONG Energy to undertake a Multibeam Echosounder (MBES) survey at the Gunfleet Sands 1 & 2 Offshore Windfarm in the Thames Estuary. The scope of work, for the November 2014 survey included: MBES survey of 300m x 300m box around 5 sites including high resolution survey of the J-tubes/ rock protected areas. This series covers survey elements which were undertaken on the 26th & 27th November 2014, around the Substation and WTG locations E04, F05, F08 and G06. The survey work was carried out using the PLA survey vessel ‘Yantlet’, with bathymetric data being collected using a hull-mounted Reson SeaBat 8125h MBES.

| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2014, PLA Hydrographic Service, Gunfleet Sands 1 and 2, Scour Rectification Bathymetric Survey |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Scour Rectification Bathymetric Survey |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 9aea3bb8-8012-46f8-9165-d9f22549c786 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-535 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2014-11-26 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2014-11-27 |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | This survey represents DONG Deliverable 720. Bathymetric data have been reduced to LAT using the VORF-LAT separation model shown in Figure 4. PPK vertical levels have been generated in PosPacMMS by applying Ordnance Survey RINEX base station data. The PPK vertical positions were applied to the bathymetric data in Hypack. The use of enhanced visualisation techniques through ‘Fledermaus software’ can highlight any inconsistencies in the survey tide reduction. |
