Metadata: 2012, DONG Energy, Gunfleet Sands 3 - Demonstration Project, Decommissioning Plan
Abstract:
In August 2010, DONG Energy was awarded a demonstration lease by The Crown Estate for a site to the south west of the GFS 2 array to construct two demonstration turbines with a maximum installed capacity of 20 MW together with associated inter-connecting cabling. This is known as the Gunfleet Sands 3 Demonstration Project (GFS 3). Applicable regulations will be followed for decommissioning of the onshore cable from landfall to the metering substation. Under Sections 105 to 114 of the Energy Act 2004 the Gunfleet Sands 3 â?? Demonstration Project is required to prepare and submit the decommissioning programme for the project prior to construction commencement. This document represents the preliminary decommissioning programme for the GS3 offshore Wind Farm and was submitted for approval in accordance with the Energy Act 2004 requirements. GS3 will also be decommissioned according to any lease conditions set out in the Crown Estate lease for this project. The decommissioning programme is informed and supported by the Environmental Statement (ES) for the GS3 Offshore Wind Farm Project that was submitted to the MMO Originally in December 2010, then an addendum was resubmitted to include the export cable in October 2011.
