Metadata: 2011, LUC, Neart na Gaoithe Offshore Wind Farm, Onshore Great Crested Newt Survey
Abstract:
Mainstream Renewable Power Limited is currently developing the Neart na Gaoithe Offshore Wind Farm, located 15.5 km off Fife Ness on the east coast of Scotland. An Environmental Statement had to be prepared in support of the application for planning permission to construct and operate grid connection infrastructure associated with the Neart na Gaoithe Offshore Wind Farm located within East Lothian. Land Use Consultants Limited (LUC) with associated sub-consultant T&SS were commissioned by Mainstream Renewable Power Limited, on behalf of Neart na Gaoithe Offshore Wind Limited, to undertake a Great Crested Newt (GCN) Survey as part of the Environmental Statement.
Data holder:
Crown Estate Scotland

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 19228 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2011, LUC, Neart na Gaoithe Offshore Wind Farm, Onshore Great Crested Newt Survey |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 9e427fc1-78a6-4a4b-a924-0aa0b0bfddf1 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | CES-251 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2011-04-15 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2011-05-23 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | The Habitat Suitability Index (HSI) approach (Oldham et al., 2000) can be used to guide survey effort and subsequent mitigation or enhancement for GCN aquatic habitats. The HSI incorporates ten parameters of habitat quality, including location within the UK in respect of known GCN distribution, water area, permanence, quality and shading, and presence of predators. The HSI score was calculated for each waterbody identified during the desk study. ARG (2010) have produced a categorisation of potential GCN aquatic habitat based on HSI scores: poor (< 0.5); below average (0.5 to 0.59); average (0.6 to 0.69); good (0.7 to 0.79); and excellent (> 0.8). This system was used to qualitatively describe each pond listed. |
