Metadata: 2011, ABPmer, Zone 9 Celtic Array, Irish Sea Zone Management of Data Collection: Development of Data Sufficiency Criteria
Abstract:
ABP Marine Environmental Research Ltd (ABPmer) , commissioned by Celtic Array had provided previous metocean studies which reviewed the anticipated metocean conditions expected across the Irish Sea Zone, and also identified and collated a range of metocean data and asuch defined a 12 month survey programme in order to fill strategic data gaps and provide new information to fulfil the project’s (proposed Round 3 development) requirement. As a result of this, a data sufficiency exercise was established for the metocean information to support this requirement. This exercise considered in more detail the range of present metocean data available to help establish the anticipated synoptic behaviour in waves and tides over the 12 month survey programme and to set appropriate criteria for the metocean survey. | Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Current metocean data form across the Irish Sea Zone (both hindcast and observation) were utilised for this exercise in order to establish sufficiency criteria to assist confirmation that the data requirements of the metocean survey were met and that information was forthcoming to underpin the projects requirement which were targeted data gaps . The sufficiency criteria developed in this exercise focused on tidal and waves related issues. |
