Metadata: 2012, EMU, Zone 7 - Navitus Bay, Fish and Shellfish Ecology Characterisation
Abstract:
This data contains the ranked abundance of the fish species caught during the benthic ecology study. In agreement with the Marine Management Organisation, two seasonal site specific set net surveys were designed and implemented. The first survey was conducted in June 2012 with a second identical survey conducted in the following September.

| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2012, EMU, Zone 7 - Navitus Bay, Fish and Shellfish Ecology Characterisation |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Fish and Shellfish Ecology Characterisation |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | a2435960-6c8c-4d5d-ae00-77cd8c5ef639 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-2620 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |

| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2012-09-07 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |
| Abstract | The abstract provides a clear and brief statement of the content of the resource. | This data contains the ranked abundance of the fish species caught during the benthic ecology study. | Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | A total of 19 two metre beam trawl tows were conducted within and around the development site from which a total of 26 different species of fish were recorded. The most abundant species were the cods and haddocks Gabidae, which were notably only recorded over inshore soft sediment substrates. Gobies Gobiidae and the common dragonet Callionymus lyra were also well represented in the 2 m beam trawl catches. Catches of fish and shellfish offshore and over harder and coarser seabed types were comparatively poor. |
