Metadata: Site Investigation Borehole Programme (Offshore Works) - Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm
Abstract:
Marine Geo System (MGS) was engaged by GGOWL as Principal Contractor for lump sum completion of the Greater Gabbard site investigation borehole programme. MGS engaged Stemat Marine Services b.v. for the charter of the barge Pontra Maris and the two support vessels: Ada D & Claudia B. The installation and operation of the survey positioning system was sub contracted to Gardline. The supply and installation of the CPT and push sampling equipment was subcontracted to AP v.d. Berg b.v. The provision of H&S personnel and advice both onshore and offshore was sub contracted to Mojo Maritime Ltd. The planned scope of work consisted of 19 confirmed boreholes of 50 metres depth and three possible additional boreholes. Each borehole had a sequence of alternate 3 metre CPTs and 1 metre push samples. Ramboll as geotechnical design consultants to GGOWL provided a representative on site to oversee the geotechnical works. Peter Ingvorsen fulfilled this role from 2nd August to the completion of the works on 2nd September.
