Metadata: 2022, The Crown Estate, De Rijke Noordzee, Cefas, Flanders Marine Institute, Offshore Wind Evidence and Change Programme, North Sea Net Gain Project
Abstract:
The North Sea Net Gain project is an Offshore Wind Evidence and Change Programme pathfinder project led by The Crown Estate in partnership with The Rich North Sea Programme (De Rijke Noordzee), delivered by Cefas and The Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ). The project is an international collaboration to provide further evidence on how benthic biodiversity is distributed across the North Sea and around the UK, with a view to supporting the continued sustainable expansion of the OW industry. Through a thorough data mining process, “big data” has been harnessed to produce detailed maps which model community types and distributions of key benthic species in the North Sea. Building on the OneBenthic initiative and forging links with the European Ocean Biodiversity Information System (EurOBIS), this project looks beyond national boundaries to enhance our understanding of the biodiversity of the seabed, with outputs made available via interactive web apps. To interactively explore the spatial outputs from the study, please go to https://rconnect.cefas.co.uk/onebenthic_layers/ .

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 19348 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2022, The Crown Estate, De Rijke Noordzee, Cefas, Flanders Marine Institute, Offshore Wind Evidence and Change Programme, North Sea Net Gain Project |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | North Sea Net Gain Project |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | af239810-a0ca-430c-9123-299c9033f685 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-3573 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2022-01-01 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2022-04-27 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |
