Metadata: 2009, The Crown Estate - Caird Fellowship Research Project, Seabed Mobility in the Greater Thames Estuary
Abstract:
The report in this series presents results from a Caird-Crown Estate research project to investigate the geomorphic history of the seabed and associated features within the greater Thames estuary within a region of over 5000km2 bounded by Aldeburgh (Suffolk), Southend-on-Sea (Essex) and Margate (Kent). Bathymetric charts published over the last 180 years have been analysed to assess the geomorphological evolution of the greater Thames seabed.

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | This report disseminates results from a Caird-Crown Estate research project to investigate the geomorphic history of the seabed and associated features within the greater Thames estuary (Figure 1), covering an area of over 5000km2 between Aldeburgh (Suffolk), Southend-on-Sea (Essex) and Margate (Kent). The report presents an examination of seabed mobility over the last 200 years, as derived from the analysis of published bathymetric charts. |
