Metadata: 2013, GEO and Thomson Unicomarine, Dudgeon, Geotechnical and Benthic Surveys
Abstract:
Dudgeon Offshore Wind Ltd. (DOW) contracted GEO to conduct a geotechnical site investigation including seabed deep Piezo-Cone Penetration Testing (CPTU) at the planned Offshore Wind Farm at Dudgeon, and shallow CPTU with vibrocoring along the cable route. GEO carried out a geotechnical soil investigation in October 2013. The analysis of 120 benthic video samples was then carried out by Thomson Unicomarine.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 19372 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2013, GEO and Thomson Unicomarine, Dudgeon, Geotechnical and Benthic Surveys |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Geotechnical and Benthic Surveys |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | bcc4865c-dc3e-49af-9c71-056ae4b397fb |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-324 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2013-06-19 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2013-08-11 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | The geotechnical offshore activities were carried out from the vessel “Blue Alfa” between 2013-05-10 and 2013-06-06. The operations were conducted on a continual 24-hour basis. In total 100 deep push seabed CPTUs to the possible maximum depth below seabed were carried out at the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm location, and 29 additional tests (reruns) were performed. In addition, 20 shallow CPTUs to 5 m below seabed were carried out along the cable route, 1 re-run was performed, and 20 vibrocore samples were taken from the corresponding locations. The borehole campaign was carried out from the vessel “Blue Beta” between 2013.06.19 and 2013.08.11. From 2013.07.19 to 2013.07.28 the vessel and operation was on standby awaiting the availability of GEO crew. The operations were conducted on a continual 24-hour basis. In total 26 boreholes and 8 repeated attempts were carried out for the wind turbines. 11 boreholes were carried out to target depth of up to 50 metres below seabed. The rest of the boreholes have been finalized as instructed by the Client’s representative offshore. In 12 boreholes Down the Hole CPTs (DTH CPT) were carried out. Offshore and onshore classification and strength tests have been executed on selected samples. All planned test locations were chosen by the Client. |
