Metadata: 2013, Coastline Surveys, Wave Hub (Hayle), Geotechnical Site Investigation
Abstract:
Coastline Surveys Ltd (CSL) was commissioned by Wavehub Limited (WHL) to undertake a marine geotechnical site investigation for the Wavehub Asset area. The aim was to obtain information on the geotechnical characteristics of the sediment at selected locations within the development area. A Vibrocore (VC) survey campaign involving 5 No. x 6m VC at locations supplied by Wavehub Ltd has been completed by CSL onboard Coastline’s dedicated survey vessel “MV FlatHolm” (Plate 1). The vibrocore survey was carried out on July 5th 2013 using the CSL C-CoreHP High Penetration Corer.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 19382 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2013, Coastline Surveys, Wave Hub (Hayle), Geotechnical Site Investigation |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Geotechnical Site Investigation |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | c1bcebf0-9695-4f17-955c-e29adab9cd4a |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-2262 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2013-07-05 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2013-07-05 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | irregular |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Following completion of the field investigation, the vibrocore samples were transported to CSL’s laboratory by dedicated courier. The cores were split, photographed, described and logged in accordance with BS EN ISO 14688. The descriptions were based on visual and manual assessment/identification with correlation to laboratory testing results where appropriate. Upon consultation with the client’s representative, a schedule of laboratory testing involving particle size distribution (PSD by wet sieve), particle density, Max/Min density and Shear strength were carried out on the cores. The PSD sampling was taken where a change of lithology or aggregate composition was noted. |
