Metadata: 2012, ABPmer, Zone 9 Celtic Array, Stage 1 Cable Landfall Assessment
Abstract:
ABP Marine Environmental Research Ltd (ABPmer) was commissioned by Celtic Array to carry out an assessment of nearshore tidal currents to aid the determination of occurrences and durations of slack water periods at four potential cable landfall sites from the proposed Rhiannon Offshore Wind Farm which are located along the north coast of Anglesey. The objectives of this Stage 1 Cable Landfall Assessment was to make a preliminary assessment of the suitability of the proposed cable landfall sites with regards to the likely metocean conditions and duration of suitable slack water periods at each; and to assess the suitability of the proposed instrumentation deployment locations. Available data set are Average Duration Plots in .tif format, model outout and time series data. Reports in pdf formats Associated report : SE-D-EV-080-0052-000000-001

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | This is a preliminary assessment (Stage 1) of proposed cable landfall sites for the Rhiannon Wind Farm Development which was undertaken making best use of available datasets . These data were calibrated to available field observations across the wider area. The calibrated model was then applied to create descriptions of depth average flows and these outputs were examined at four options for cable landfall (Sites 5, 7, 8 and 12) to determine the duration of slack water periods over a spring and neap tidal cycle. |
