Metadata: 2013, Anatec, Costa Head, Navigation Risk Assessment
Abstract:
As part of the Navigation Risk Assessment of the proposed Costa Head Wave Farm development, 28 days of shipping data surrounding the Agreement for Lease (AfL) area is being gathered. The data is being gathered over 2 x 14 day periods to give account to seasonal and tidal variations. This series contains the winter report (14 days January-February).
Data holder:
Crown Estate Scotland

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 5612 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2013, Anatec, Costa Head, Navigation Risk Assessment |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | ecc1a02a-8e89-423e-b58f-f45bf1c20dec |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | A2455-CHWFL |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2013-01-25 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2013-02-08 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | The survey was conducted 24 hours per day. The AIS system tracked targets 24 hours per day during the survey period. The radar was manned between approximately 0600hrs and midnight, with targets not on AIS acquired manually. During this manned period a visual lookout was maintained and all observations were recorded in the logbook. Between 0000 and 0600 radar targets were acquired automatically by the radar, over an area defined by the watch-keepers, which covered the Costa Head AfL area. Throughout the survey only one additional radar observation (that was not detected by AIS) was made within 10nm of the survey site. This is considered to be due to the winter period and generally poor weather conditions (see Section 2.5), which meant that activity by smaller vessels was very low. |
