Metadata: 2011, Anatec, Zone 1 - Moray Firth, Navigational Risk Assessment
Abstract:
Anatec have been commissioned by Moray Offshore Renewables Ltd (MORL) to perform the baseline navigation assessment of the Eastern Development Area located in the Moray Firth, in the North of Scotland. It is planned that the Eastern Development Area will contain three wind farms called Telford, Stevenson and MacColl. The objectives of this work are as follows: • Identify the navigational features in the vicinity of the Eastern Development Area. • Analyse real time shipping survey data (AIS and radar) in and around the Eastern Development Area. • Establish the nature of the shipping activities in the area. • Validate Survey data with longer-term shipping data for the area. • Review fishing vessel activity in the area. • Review recreational vessel activity and facilities in the area. • Identify maritime incidents that have taken place in the vicinity in the recent past. • Present a preliminary review of Search and Rescue (SAR) resources in the area.
