Metadata: 2009, Centrica Energy, Race Bank, Supplementary Environmental Information (SEI)
Abstract:
Centrica conducted a Supplementary Environmental Information (SEI) study in September 2009 to support planning applications for the Docking Shoal (up to 540 MW) and Race Bank (up to 620 MW) Offshore Wind Farms, originally submitted for offshore consents in late 2008 and early 2009. The SEI included a Population Viability Analysis (PVA) requested by Natural England and the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) to evaluate potential impacts on the north Norfolk Sandwich tern population, along with new geophysical and biological surveys, revised cable corridor designs, and updated visualizations as per the latest guidelines. The methodology involved technical analyses, public exhibitions, stakeholder consultations, and distribution of findings through libraries, council offices, and online platforms. Conclusions indicate that, at high bird collision avoidance rates (=99.5%), the proposed wind farms would have no significant effect on the Sandwich tern population, and seabed surveys addressed routing concerns. The SEI recommends ongoing stakeholder dialogue and has made all related materials publicly accessible for further comment and regulatory review.

| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2009, Centrica Energy, Race Bank, Supplementary Environmental Information (SEI) |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Supplementary Environmental Information (SEI) |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | f900e3b8-f2f4-45eb-814c-79c83fe4047a |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-1824 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2009-08-31 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2009-09-29 |
